Obituary of Barbara Mae Morris

On a beautiful Kentucky Sunday morning, December 12, 2021 Barbara Mae Morris, 82, went home to be with her sisters and our Lord. She was born in Red Hill, Kentucky on January 27, 1939. She was a loving mother to Jim (Jami) Kelly and Rhonda (Steven) Marks. Her joy were her grandsons Jeremy (Joanna) Kelly and Curt (Nicole) Kelly. She had a special, unbreakable bond with her granddaughter Jodi (Zachery) Correll as they talked several times a day and shared a love of books, animals and Qdoba lunches. She was blessed with 3 great-grandchildren Kadence, Warren and Scarlett.

Barbara was a retired machinist from Semicon Associates. She will be remembered for her love of God, family and all of God’s creatures. She spent her days working in the yard, growing beautiful flowers, canning, riding her lawn mower, feeding her birds with many birdhouses, feeding the neighbor’s cat Lucy and taking care of her precious cat Hallee. She was loved and will be greatly missed by many.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ora Mae Morris, brothers Earl, Jack, Dempsey, Everett and Bentley, sisters Iva, Alma, Sudie, Naoma and Marie, plus many nieces and nephews.

A gathering will be Saturday, December 18th at 11AM – 1PM at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing, 601 E. Brannon Road, Nicholasville, KY. A celebration of Life Service will follow at 1PM. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Lexington Pit Crew, www.lexpitcrew.org, for the love she had for her precious great-granddogs Java and Levi or the Gary Sinise Foundation, www.garysinisefoundation.org honoring her military son and grandsons.
