Obituary of Peggy Jo Warren-Day

Peggy Jo (Roy) Warren Day slipped gently into eternity on November 3, 2021. She was born on June 22, 1934, the daughter of Clarence and Eunice (Long) Roy in Dadeville, MO. She graduated from Stockton High School and attended Southwest Missouri State University before accepting a clerical position in Washington, DC. She was a skilled bookkeeper and executive secretary, managing several businesses. A devoted Christian, she was a member of Southside Church of Christ. Peg lived her life with a constant sense of “there but by the Grace of God, go I,” and she blessed her family, neighbors, friends, and even strangers with generosity and hospitality. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother James Lee Roy, and her husband, Coach Russell J. Day. She is survived by her two brothers, Larry Roy and Rex Roy of Springfield, MO and her two daughters, Debi Carey (Don) Branstetter and Donna (Stan) Sizemore. She was the proud Nana of six grandchildren: Micah Branstetter, Kate (Nick) Key, Jeremiah (Sarah) Sizemore, Susannah Sizemore, Sarah (Chase) Torgerson and Josh (Kelsey) Sizemore. She welcomed ten precious great-grandchildren with such joy: Glory, Baxter, Gideon, Silas, Autumn, Aaron, Cami, Myla, Nash, and Sonny. Oh, how their smiles and snuggles warmed her heart! Many thanks to the staff at The Willows for their extraordinary, compassionate care. A funeral service on Sunday, November 7 at 2:00 PM at Southside Church of Christ, with visitation immediately following. Burial will be in Lexington Cemetery on Monday, November 8 at 2:30 PM. Memorial tributes may be made to Lexington Rescue Mission or Bluegrass Care Navigators.
