Obituary of George "Wes" Hensley

George “Wes” Hensley, 75, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021. He was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky on September 24, 1945 to the late George Wilson and Mary Elizabeth Collier Hensley. He worked for General Electric and was a Veteran of the US Navy. Wes was a Mason, Shriner, and Kentucky Colonel.

He is survived by his daughter, Wendy Carol (Buford) Quire; his sons, Junior Virgil Dale (Laura) Hensley, Wes (Jodie) Hensley, and George Wilson Hensley, all of Frankfort; his grandchildren, Jeff Smith, Michael Britton, Darien Quire, Maddie Quire, Windy Tristan Hensley, Matthew Allen Rutherford, Miranda Anne Hensley, Brandon Richard Hensley, and Achmen Elizabeth Spencer; as well as his 26 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 17 years, Carol Ann Hensley; his brothers, Wilson Irvine Hensley, and James David Hensley; and his grandsons, Dale Douglas Hensley, and Dustin Woolums.

Graveside service will be held at 2:30pm on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
