Obituary of Dwight Hobart Hitch

Dwight Hobart Hitch, 68, husband of Brenda Norvell Hitch, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021. He was born in Maysville, KY on November 21, 1952 to the late Mary Louise Craig and Harry Hobart Hitch. Mr. Hitch graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Doctorate degree in law and worked as an attorney. 

In addition to his wife, Brenda, those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Benjamin (Jennifer) Hitch, Andrew Hitch, Arlo Hitch; sister, Treva (Frank) Brodhagen; brother, Reverend Gervase (Rebecca) Hitch; grandchildren, Azebo Hitch, Aidan Gates, Willow Hitch, and Lylah Hitch.  

Mr. Hitch was greatly involved in his community. He was the chairman for the Wilmore Community Development Board for over 20 years, and served as chairman for the Jessamine County Public Library for over 10 years. Some of his hobbies included gardening, broom making, hiking and the outdoors. His family also lovingly describes him as an avid conservationist, and humanitarian.  

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 2PM at Wilmore Free Methodist Church, with visitation starting at 1PM until the time of service.
