Obituary of Ralph W. O'Reel

Versailles – Ralph W. O’Reel, 92, widower of Bernadine O’Reel, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021. He was born in Hammond, IN on May 2, 1929 to the late John and Elizabeth Skurth O’Reel. He was a member of St Lea Catholic Church. Ralph relocated from Hammond, IN to Versailles, KY as one of the original 7 members to oversee the construction of the Rand McNally Plant.  

He is survived by his sons, Brian (Carol) O’Reel, Versailles, Ronald (Lynell) O'Reel, Nashville, and Kevin (Kim) O’Reel, Versailles; his grandchildren, Leann (Travis), Lindsey (Jeremy), Thomas (Jessica), Lauren (Caleb), Andrew (Ali), Alexandra, Josh (Ariel), and Jon Thomas; and his great grandchildren, Addison, Natalie, Grayson, William, Sophia, Elan, Jaxon, Zoe, Hadlee, Liam, McClain, Nathaniel, and Kairan.  

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at St Leo Catholic Church with Father Chris Clay officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Crest Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers will be Joshua O’Reel, Jon Thomas O’Reel, Andrew O’Reel, Thomas O’Reel, Leann Kerr, Lindsey Anglin, Lauren Rice, and Alexandra O’Reel. Honorary casketbearers will be Travis Kerr, Jeremy Anglin, Jessica O'Reel, Caleb Rice, Ali O'Reel, Ariel O'Reel and 13 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Leo Catholic Church. Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill is in charge of arrangements.
