Obituary of Melissa Roberts Thornton

Melissa Roberts Thornton, 68, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021. She was born on October 9, 1952 in Lexington, KY to Francis Arthur Roberts and the late Betty Cramer Roberts.  

Mrs. Thornton is survived by her daughter, Allison (William) Andersen; son, Jared (Lisa) Thornton; sister, Molly (Woody) DePerna; brother, Tri (Valerie) Roberts; and granddaughter, Katelynn Andersen. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Thornton is preceded in death by her husband Randall Joseph Thornton.

Mrs. Thornton worked for United Bank as a teller, and she was a member of Saint Leo Catholic church in Versailles. Some of her hobbies include walking at Falling Springs, trivia nights, and board games. She loved being at the dog park, loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  

A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 2PM at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing with a gathering of family and friends following from 3PM-6PM. Bruce Breeding will be conducting the service. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators or the Woodford County Humane Society.
