Obituary of Gene Banks

Eugene “Gene” Rogers Banks, 90, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, April 29, 2021. Gene was born on March 8, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio. He retired as Battalion Chief from the Lexington Fire Department, was a farmer and talented woodworker.  

Gene is survived by his sons, Michael Edward Banks (Janet), and David Eugene Banks (Julia), his daughter, Ruth Diane Skinner, all of Lexington, Kentucky and three grandchildren.  

He is preceded in death by Lillian Hisel Banks his beloved wife of 64 years; his son, Stephen Andrew Banks; sister, Mildred Short; and brother, Edward Banks.  

Visitation for family and friends will be from 10 AM -12 Noon Saturday May 1, 2021 at Clark Legacy Center- Brannon Crossing followed by a service at Noon. Burial will be at Boone's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pall bearers: Michael Banks; Richard Banks; Luke and Brett Goode; Rusty, Brian and Owen Rhineheimer; Rick and Kevin Hisel.
