Obituary of Armenta Fields Christy

Armenta Fields Christy, 85, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021. A native of Midway, she was born on March 29, 1936 to the late Thomas and Mary Williams Fields. Armenta enjoyed playing bingo and was a faithful member of Pilgram Baptist Church in Midway where she served on the Culinary Committee.  Armenta was very well known in the community, greeting everyone with a smile and kind words.   

She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Greene, Midway; her four sons, James H. Greene Jr., Versailles, Reginald (Theresa) Owsley, Lexington, Darryl W. Christy, Frankfort, and Donald Eugene Christy, Frankfort; her sister, Christine Davis, Midway; her three grandchildren, Aulton James Greene, Zachary Owsley, and Sierra Owsley; and her Three great-grandchildren, Mia Greene, Amaya Greene, and Auston Greene.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Johnetta Monie.  

Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Pilgram Baptist Church in Midway. Elder Christopher Wright will be officiating. Burial will be held at Midway Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers will be James Greene, Reginald Owsley, Donald Christy, Aulton Greene, Zachary Owsley, Robert Fields, and Darryl Christy. Honorary casketbearers will be William Monie, III and Gene Howard. Wake will be held from 11:00am until the time of service on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Pilgram Baptist Church. Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill is in charge of arrangements.
