Obituary of Karen S. Carpenter

Karen S. Carpenter, 71, wife of Don Carpenter, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021. A native of Frankfort, she was born on August 29, 1949 to the late Maurice and Gwendolyn Monroe Grider. She worked for Living Waters Church for 20 years as the financial administrator. She was a member for 35 years.

In addition to her husband of 53 years, she is survived by her sons, Donald “Chip” Glynn Carpenter Jr., Louisville, and Gabriel “Gabe” Thomas (Felicia) Carpenter, Shelby County; her sister, Cathy (Don) Noe, Henderson NV; her grandchildren, Christian Carpenter, Adrianna Carpenter, Reuben Carpenter and Brandon Dunn; as well as two longtime family friends, John Madera and Valorie Langseth.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 10:00am to 12:00pm, followed by the funeral service beginning at 12:00pm at Clark Legacy Center, 3000 Versailles Road, Frankfort. Pastor Stephen Riley will be officiating. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as casketbearers will be Christian Carpenter, Reuben Carpenter, Brandon Dunn, Grant Grider, Don Noe and John Madera.
