Obituary of Cynthia Carter

Cynthia Whitlatch Carter, 71, passed away on February 14, 2021, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert H. and Beverly B. (Duesing) Whitlatch. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Paul D. Carter, and daughters Kimberly C. (Jon) Hacker, Tracy K. Carter, and a grandson, Carter D. McFadden, all of Nicholasville, Ky. She is also survived by a sister, Candice (Gary) Shively of North Canton, Ohio, brothers Donald (Carla) Whitlatch and Douglas (Raenell) Whitlatch, both of Springfield, Ohio, and a sister-in-law, Sally C. Flynn of Frankfort, Ky. Cindy was born in Springfield, Ohio where she attended South High School. She was a graduate of Mount Carmel College of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio. She was a Registered Nurse at U.K. Medical Center for over 35 years, working in Pediatrics and the NICU. Cindy was a devoted mother to her girls, mentoring them through school and life. She was an avid woodworker, crafting many pieces of beautiful furniture for friends and family. Cindy loved the water and enjoyed annual family beach trips to Garden City Beach, S.C., houseboat trips on Lake Cumberland, and boating on Herrington Lake with her beloved Myrtles. She was a dog lover, beginning with Roxy, and then Pooh, Aggie, Paddy and granddog Jax. Cindy also leaves behind two lifelong friends to cherish her memory, Jan Hockensmith and Melody Kazee.
