Obituary of William Sergent

William Monty Sergent, 83, husband of Martha Sergent died on Sun. Jan. 17, 2021 in Lexington, KY. He was born on Nov. 29, 1937 in Whitesburg, KY to the late Benton and Eva Sergent. William was a veteran with U.S. Marine Corp and was a truck driver for many years.  He is survived by his wife Martha Sergent; one daughter Margaret (Buddy) Hurt, Versailles, KY; two grandchildren, Caleb (Jordyn) Hurt, Ashland, KY and Laykin Hurt, Moorehead, KY; one great-grandchild, Rearden Hurt, Ashland, KY.  He is preceded in death by one daughter, Lynette Sergent and his only sister, Sue Brewer.  A private service will be held on Sat., Jan. 23, 2021 at Clark Legacy Center - Brannon Rd with a visitation from 12pm to 12:30pm.  A graveside service will follow at 1pm at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flower’s memorial donations may be made to www.apdaparkinson.org/community/kentucky/ or to VFW Post 680.   Due to mandates by the Governor of Kentucky those attending services are required to wear proper facial coverings, follow social distancing guidelines.
