Tom Dever

Obituary of Tom Dever

Tom Dever Devoted husband, loving father, son and brother, Thomas Edwin Dever, 69, ended his courageous battle with cancer at 11:11 am, Monday, December 15, 2008. He is survived by his equally loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Glenda Dever, son Kerry Dever, daughter Whitney Wright, loving mother Dorothy Dever, brother Donald Dever, sister Debbie Pruitt, seven grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friend Ronnie Cobb. Always "saying what he meant and meaning what he said", Tom led his life with honesty and integrity, and such was adamantly confirmed by all who knew him and were fortunate enough in life to call him their friend. Upon returning from his Army tour in Germany in 1959, he married Glenda, his childhood sweetheart, and began working in the construction industry for Ferguson Lathing Co., and continued in the industry throughout his life. For the last 15 years, Tom worked as a private contractor, owner/operator of Tom Dever Remodeling and New Construction. Tom treated each project as if it was his own property and his adherence to old-fashioned quality in design and workmanship earned him the reputation as a Master Builder. Tom's Gathering of Family and Friends and Remembrance will be held Saturday 12/27 from 2-5 pm at Clark Legacy Center, 601 East Brannon Road, Nicholasville, reverend Jim Bird officiating. In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to make a donation to Hospice of the Bluegrass in Tom's name. Funeral Information Reflection of Life Service Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 4:30 pm Gathering of family and friends Saturday December 27, 2008 from 2 to 5 pm
