Obituary of Phillips Lynn Mitchell Sr.

<b>Obituary</b> Phillips Lynn Mitchell Sr., 82, a servant of the Lord, married to Ann Carol Mappin Mitchell for 52 years, died on Saturday, October 10, 2009. He was Co-Owner of Flowers by Carol Lynn Originals, now owned by his daughter, Ruth, and served as President of the Kentucky Florist Association for 2 years. Lynn traveled throughout the South with The Moody Adams Evangelistic Organization as music director soloist for 10 years. He served as Minister of Music for many Baptist churches in Lexington including Trinity, Gardenside, Rosemont, Southeast Lexington (a mission of Immanuel Baptist Church now Victory Baptist) and South Elkhorn. Lynn also led the music and sang for many revivals throughout Central Kentucky. He delighted in using his voice for the Lord and sharing the love of Jesus Christ with everyone. He is survived by his daughter, Ruth Mitchell Babcock; son, Phillips (Amy) Lynn Mitchell, Jr.; grandchildren, Joshua Callie Lynn Babcock, Clay Phillips Carson Mitchell; sister-in-laws, Joyce Mitchell Betty Mitchell (Merritt Island, Fl). He was preceded in death by brothers Bill, Emmett, Scott (Sue) Mitchell. <b>Funeral Information</b> Visitation will be 4-8 pm, Tuesday, October 13, at Anchor Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be 10 am, Wednesday, October 14, also at Anchor Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Paul Sisk, Walter Price, Steve Gray and Carl Peters. Casket Bearers: Gary Mitchell, Scotty Mitchell, Nick Mitchell, Andy Mitchell, Steve Mitchell and Chad Mitchell. Honorary Pallbearers: The Helmans Sunday School class.
