Agnes Rose Bowman Rice

It is with great sadness that the family of Agnes Rose Bowman Rice announce her passing on Friday, September 30, 2022 at the age of 85. Agnes was born on March 3, 1937 in Versailles, Kentucky. 

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Sharon (William) Jones, Robbie (Kelli) Rice, Kim (Eugene) Marcum and Tony Rice. Grandchildren Andrea (Ben) Mackey, Lori (Josh DeVore), Aaron (Megan) Marcum , Tara Marcum and Robert Rice III. Great grandchildren Eli Mackey, Camden Mackey, Hazel Mackey, Silas Mackey, Olivia DeVore and August Pepperz.

She is also survived by her brother Lonnie (Sally) Bowman and sister-in-law Rhonda Bowman along with many special nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She will also be greatly missed by her friends and the workers at Sayre Christian Village in Lexington, Ky.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Robert (Bobby) Carl Rice, her parents Reverend Lawrence and Lorine Bowman, her brother Larry Bowman her sister Juanita Jones, and brother- in- law Cecil Jones.

Agnes loved the Lord, lived for Him and was a loving mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and friend. Even in the hardest of times she had a smile and a hug for anyone she encountered. She was a member of Fintville Community Church and worked tirelessly to keep the doors open for many years. She retired from Jim Beam Distillery.

She loved her family fiercely, the outdoors, flowers, birds, coloring and her special cat Autumn.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill with Ben Mackey officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as casketbearers will be Willie Jones, Eugene Marcum, Josh DeVore, Ben Mackey, Aaron Marcum, and Robert Rice. Honorary casketbearers will be Billy Lee Carpenter, Steve Jones, Stephen Jones, William Brown, and Carol Thurman. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
